Privacy policy
Quinn is an AI interview coach that calls your own phone, runs a practice interview, and sends you a scorecard. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and how you erase it — in plain language.
What we collect
- Your account. You sign in with your Apple account. We receive a unique account identifier and your email address (which may be Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email). A name is optional.
- Your phone number. The number you ask Quinn to call, which you verify with a one-time SMS code. We store the verification record (number, time zone, and confirmation) as evidence of your consent to be called, and Quinn only ever dials that verified number.
- Call audio and transcripts. Your practice calls are recorded and transcribed so Quinn can hold the interview and build your scorecard. Every call states this out loud in its opening line. The transcript is stored with your account so you can revisit your scorecards.
- Scorecards and practice setup. The scorecards Quinn generates (including verbatim quotes of what you said), the target role or job description you provide, and your question plans and progress trends. All visible in the app.
- Visa practice answers (optional). If you use the visa modes, the DS-160 practice answers you enter (purpose, funding, ties, plans, listed social handles). These are practice data using placeholders — Quinn asks you not to enter real passport, case, or document numbers, and we don't want them.
- Subscription state. Your plan and usage (call minutes). Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
- Device and diagnostics. A device-integrity check (Apple's DeviceCheck) used only to protect the free practice calls from abuse, push notification tokens, and basic technical logs for reliability.
How we use it
- To run Quinn: place the practice calls you request to your own number, conduct the interview, transcribe and analyze it, generate your scorecard and drills, and track your progress.
- To manage your subscription and enforce plan limits.
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse of the free calls, and debug failures.
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
AI processing — full disclosure
Quinn's intelligence runs on third-party AI infrastructure providers acting as our data processors. Your call audio is processed by AI in the moment to power Quinn's side of the conversation, and your transcript is analyzed to produce your scorecard. These providers process your content under contracts that prohibit using it for anything other than providing this service, including training their models. Calls are carried over the regular phone network by a telephony provider, which handles your phone number and call audio solely to connect the call. Every AI-generated surface in the app — scorecards, drills, visa feedback — is labeled as generated by Quinn AI and carries a "Report" control.
The visa modes
Quinn's visa interview practice is rehearsal only. Quinn is not affiliated with any government agency, does not provide legal or immigration advice, and never predicts a visa outcome. Your DS-160 practice answers are used solely to cross-check your spoken answers during a practice call and are deleted with your account.
Retention and deletion
- We keep your data while your account is active, so your scorecards and trends stay with you.
- Delete your account (You tab → Delete account) and your personal data goes with it — transcripts, scorecards, question plans, visa practice answers, schedules, and your phone number — removed from our production systems immediately and purged from backups within 30 days.
- For legal and anti-abuse reasons we retain a minimal record that a number was verified and that an account was deleted (the consent/OTP trail), and a salted, one-way hash that prevents the free-call allowance from being reset by deleting and re-creating accounts. Neither contains your readable phone number or call content.
- You can also email mitsi@uptrail.ai to request deletion and we'll do it for you.
Who we share with
Only the processors needed to run the service: cloud hosting, the AI providers above, the telephony provider that connects the calls, and Apple (sign-in, payments, push notifications, device integrity). Each receives only the minimum required for their function. We never sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if legally required to do so.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls in reputable cloud infrastructure, and accessible only to systems and people that need it to run the service.
Your rights
You can read everything Quinn knows in the app and delete all of it. If you're in a region with formal privacy rights (such as the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you can exercise access, correction, deletion, and portability rights by emailing mitsi@uptrail.ai. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
Age
Quinn is for adults: you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Quinn is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 — if we learn we have, we delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect.
